Like the small hole in the wall café that you never would have heard of until stumbling upon it, realizing that the coffee is exceptional, the atmosphere engaging, and the pastries to die for…Wild Rose Photography is now open to the public!

Well, where to begin. I’m not one of those people that can be nailed down with only one well rehearsed idiom…I like to think of myself as a complex being; full of light, life and humor!

I love travel, new experiences, my family, my horses, my husband, sleep, good cold beer on a hot summer day, a good book and hot chocolate on a cold winter’s day, campfires, pizza, pasta, photography (of course!) , and just being out in nature. Clean crisp air, total real silence, and the endless expanse of the stars. These things make up the person that I am; the person that I am proud to be.

The first thing that you should know about me as a photographer, and accept right away, is that I don’t take myself too seriously. If I did, I’m sure that my life wouldn’t be as interesting as it is! I like to see the humor and light side to any situation, and I also have an overwhelming need to make people feel comfortable in my company.

An uncomfortable person is almost always an uptight one, and uptight comes across terribly in photos! Every person that I photograph is a unique individual, and I want that spark and individuality to show in the expressions, the connections, and the life that unfolds in front of my lens.

The second thing that you need to know is that cookie cutter is not in my vocabulary. In creating Wild Rose Photography, I want to create a photography experience that is as unique as the individuals that I am lucky enough to photograph. Your life and the experiences in it are distinctive and rare; exceptional.

Why should your photography be any different?

Behind every kool-aid mustache, untucked shirt, and forgotten garter is another chapter waiting to unfold; a story in it’s own right. Life is wonderful, unpredictable and imperfect. So don’t worry if your families’ clothing doesn’t all match. Just be ready to be yourselves and have fun, and I promise that the photographs will work themselves out.
